Dr. Stephen Vogt
Dr. Stephen Vogt, President and CEO of BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy, founded this company in 1989. At the time, the company was called InfusionCare and it was the first intravenous homecare pharmacy in Central Florida. After spreading across the country and expanding the services it offered, the company changed names to BioPlus to better represent the new direction of the business. Today, BioPlus is a thriving business of more than 100 employees, serving the specialty pharmacy needs of tens of thousands of patients facing complex chronic health conditions.
I started BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy more than 20 years ago with the goal of building a specialty pharmacy that went beyond simply providing biologic medicines. I wanted to build a company that treats patients with individual pharmaceutical care plans to make sure that their biologic specialty medicines have the best possible outcomes.” – Dr. Stephen Vogt, President and CEO
Dr. Vogt, an Orlando, Florida native, earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree at Mercer University. He then completed an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) post-doctoral residency at Florida Hospital in the specialty of Metabolic Support. Dr. Vogt was one of the first pharmacists to be recognized as a Board Certified Nutrition Support Pharmacist. He help pioneer the fields of Intravenous Homecare, and Specialty Pharmacy. This experience has led him to speak on these subjects around the country and to be placed on a Congressional advisory board. Weekly he writes a blog on his opinions in Speciality and Biologic medical pharmacy.
Dr. Vogt and his wife have three college-aged children. He is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying sports such as fishing, hunting, and cycling. He and his family are involved with and support many charitable causes, including the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and Bike MS (a fundraiser for multiple sclerosis).
